As light as plastic (it actually weighs 1g less than a stock plastic boom mount!)
More rigid than plastic
Firm clamping (keyed to boom slot)
The belt can be replaced without taking the stock frame apart
The gear shaft bearings are pre-loaded to eliminate up and down float (reduces potential vibes)
No loctite needed on bearings or shaft
Uses stock Trex-500 gear drive
